Master Jim Mahan

Master Jim Mahan is a decorated combat veteran with three tours in Iraq and is an established authority on the use of the knife as a weapon. He is the owner of Let’s Get Training and the American Combat Arts Federation, recognized as a producer of some of the top Military and Martial Arts Instructional Videos in the World.

Jim is one of the top hand-to-hand combat instructors in the United States Army and he has instructed thousands of US and foreign military and police units in Hand to Hand Combat. Since 1983 he has dedicated his life to training in blade related arts and has trained extensively in Jeet Kune Do, Filipino Kali, Arnis, Indonesian Silat, and a plethora of related arts. Mr. Mahan has continued to update his arsenal by training in Submission Grappling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with his current Professor, Hideki Frazier and has been recently awarded his Purple belt.

While deployed for his second tour in Iraq, Mr. Mahan was responsible for training Iraqi Special Forces Platoons as well as Iraqi Police Counter Terrorism Teams in Precision Building Clearing and Hand to Hand Combative skill sets. Let’s Get Training’s Combative Systems is one of the only companies in the world that can bring such a unique training environment to not only the real life experiences in the use of weapons, but as well as pure hand-to-hand combat. The Sil Jeon Mu Sool curriculum taught at his academy is a realistic, vibrant and robust training syllabus that is being adopted by schools nationwide.

Jim is currently stationed at Ft Hood, Texas with his wife Missy and son, Jacob.
